skipping / replacing items on the meal plan

hello, i suppose the food combination indicated in our meal plans are necessary to achieve the maximum effect if its followed strictly, BUT what if:
1. I want to skip an item
ex. let's say I don't like the food item or I was not able to buy it. (ex. vegetable juice, oat bran etc) Can I skip it without risking the efficacy of the program?
2. I want to change the format/recipe of the food
ex. 120g Poached tuna with dill -- what if i prefer to eat 120g canned tuna in brine instead?
or for 120g stir fried beef steak -- can I just eat 120g of boiled beef cubes (nilaga)?
or marinated chicken skewers -- can I eat plain pan-seared chicken fillet (seasoned w/ salt & pepper only)?

If it is a yogurt with fruits in it, I suggest eating it at 4-5 PM but if it is just plain yogurt, you may have it during your regular meals.

Hi Xiahbe!
You can have any other low fat cheese as substitute to cottage cheese. Regarding yogurt, yes you may have 0%fat/acti-v yogurt. I suggest you have it for 4-5 PM snack. :)

@ wkt: Where in QC are you? A good supermarket, like Shopwise, should have it. They're usually sold in one-liter boxes, where you can find juices in tetra boxes (NOT refrigerators, but the usual shelves). I think one of the brands is Ceres.
Delis like Terry Selection and Santi's likely have it, and Healthy Options too.

@ Atheanna23: No worries! If you can't bake your meats, you have other options:
- Steam
- Poach/boil
- If you must pan-fry, preferably do it in a non-stick pan with no oil, or just a little bit of olive oil, or a good oil for your blood type
The almonds won't have the same effect as fruits, as the sugar in fruits is needed while your insulin peaks and to boost your energy in the afternoon. Don't worry about the switch for now, but try your best to stock up for next week. ;)

Hi. We do not have an oven at home, that’s why I can’t prepare anything that’s “baked”. Is it okay if I just fry it instead (using vegetable oil)? Or do you have any other alternative preparations for “baked” meals. Yesterday, I fried my chicken patty, and today I am using the Friday meal plan, to skip the baking part again.
One more thing, can I (at anytime) eat almonds instead of fruits for merienda, and vice verse? I ran out of fruits and didn’t have time to buy last night.

how come my weekly meals comprise of some items that are on my 'foods to avoid list'? this is confusing. like for example, i have oat bran on my meal plan, but it's also on my 'foods to avoid list'.
i tried to start a forum on this, but my entry was deleted.
