FORUM: Questions on Chrono-Geno-Nutrition Diet

The CGN Standard Timing and Order of Meals

Dear All CGN Dieters,

According to the 1st pillar of the diet, Chrono-Nutrition, one must:

1. Keep meal at 4-hr intervals apart (Breakfast, Lunch, PM snack, Dinner)
2. Eat your meals in order

For the Phase 1 of the program which lasts for 2 weeks (no starch except for vegetables and oat bran) the order is:
- oat bran (with or without milk) - applicable for all phases
- protein
- fats
- vegetables
- dairy
- beverage

For Phase 2, where starch is gradually reintroduced, the order is:
- starch (rice, bread)
- protein
- fats
- vegetables
- dairy
- beverages

Everything clear? If not, discuss here!

I am usually in a hurry at breakfast time. Can i just make a smoothie out of the psyllium, soy / almond milk and the veggies and drink it up?

Knowing the food exchange list, I have been switching the recommended menus on different days. And since cooking one serving is impractical, I cook for two meals and repeat the the same dish for supper or for the next day. That should be fine right? I also sometimes concoct my own recipe.

It is my 4th week his week of the diet, so far I lost 10 pounds after the second week it seemed pounds lost stopped after the second week. Why is this so? What can i do to make the weight lost faster for the 4th week?

What is the rationale for the order of eating starch first, then proteins, fats, vegetables, dairy and beverage? In fine dining and how some are used to - vegetable salad comes first. In a Chinese lauriat, rice is at the end.

What if it is a one-dish meal with veggies and protein mixed together? I have actually picked the chicken or fish first, then the veggie. Can we not eat them all at the same time?

Don't they just churn together in the stomach?

Thanks Juvie!

Oat bran is different from oatmeal. Oat bran is simply the husks of the oat grain which is more fiber than oats. Look for Australia Harvest for the brand of oat bran. You can add some of your nonfat milk in this plus stevia instead of honey.

Hi Ms. Charms,

Appreciate your posts.

I just wanna ask: oat bran is the same as the oatmeal we buy at the grocery stores, is it? so when I have 2 tbsps oat bran & 240 ml non-fat milk, I'lll mix them both & what do I add as sweetener? Can I use honey?
